OVERVIEW
In an industrial project located in the Gemlik district of Bursa, collapse problems arise due to the loose structure of the ground on which the project will be built. In this case, the geological characteristics of the region and the location of the project close to the sea are the most important factors. Since the project is an industrial structure, situations such as the loads on it and transportation mobility within and outside the industrial facility make ground stabilization inevitable. Ensuring ground stabilization is of critical importance not only for the immediate and short-term durability of the project, but also for the long-term success of the business and continuity of production.
Challenges Encountered
The location of the land on which the project will be built, close to the sea, and the problems created by the geological structure of the region are the primary difficulties that the project team must overcome. Since the loose structure of the ground and the risk of erosion of the area would negatively affect the durability of the structure, it required the project team to adopt a more careful and expert approach to ground stabilization and reinforcement solutions. With our years of experience and expertise, we have provided the right product and solution to overcome this challenge.
SOLUTION
Fortex 110/110 Bidirectional Geogrid was preferred for ground stabilization and strengthening of the project. Fortex 110/110 Bidirectional Geogrid, which stands out with its high strength feature, is specially produced to increase the bearing capacity of heavy foundations such as industrial buildings and to prevent local settlements. Fortex 110/110 Bidirectional Geogrid, which will be used on a total of 170,000 m2 throughout the project, is long-lasting, reliable and low-cost, and also provides resistance to seismic and dynamic loads.
