A New Investment from Istanbul Teknik - Çorum Alaca Emulsion Facility

Istanbul Teknik; continues its leadership in the asphalt sector by establishing Turkey's first and only two-stage emulsion plant.

Istanbul Teknik, which established the first of its Asphalt Emulsion Plants in Çorum Alaca, commissioned the second of this investment in its Bolu Production facilities in October 2021.

Istanbul Teknik Asfalt will produce with its own recipes, all of which are developed at the Istanbul Teknik R&D center, in the emulsion plants it has established. The aim is to extend the life of asphalt with higher quality and economical products, to increase its quality and to provide more comfortable and safe road transportation.

The reason for choosing two different locations for production is that although the demand for emulsion use is high in Turkey, emulsion is not a storable product. In this case, investments were made with the decision to reduce logistics costs and move production closer to the need for fast shipment.

While cationic polymer modified bitumen emulsion production is carried out in our plant established in Çorum Alaca, anionic bitumen emulsion production will be carried out in our Bolu plant in addition to cationic emulsion.

Thus, anionic emulsion produced in our Bolu plant will also be a source for our insulation products and will also support our product range. Other production areas that emulsion plants will provide to İstanbul Teknik;

- Adhesive coating for bituminous hot mixtures

- Surface coating

- Protective coating and

- Mortar type coating can be grouped under these groups.

Our Çorum Alaca PMBE Plant will produce with a capacity of 10 tons per hour

Our Alaca plant became the first and only emulsion plant in Turkey that performs two-stage production. In our Alaca plant, bitumen is first modified, then emulsion is produced with polymer modified bitumen. Thus, we produce emulsion that is stronger, more elastic and reinforced with superior adhesion properties. This increases the quality of our PMBE production even more.

With our PMBE production, in asphalt coatings used on our country's highways;

- While reflection cracks and wheel marks are prevented,

- The fatigue and peeling resistance of asphalt will increase,

- The surface roughness required for road holding and safety will be provided in all four seasons,

- The asphalt construction season will be extended, While absorption capacity is minimized, strong water insulation will be provided,
in short, the life of asphalt will be extended.
