Retaining Walls and Steep Slopes

The reinforcement products such as ForTex Uni-Axial Geogrid, ForTex GS geostrip and ForCell geocell, which are gradually placed into the ground, present solutions equivalent to conventional retaining walls and geo-slope solutions depending upon the area used, and ensure stability of filling in steep and near-to-steep slopes. When the horizontal angle of the filling is in the range of 45 to 70, the Geosynthetics Reinforced Slope (GeoSlope) is identified as GeoArme Slope, and when the angle is in the range of 70 to 90, the Geosynthetics Reinforced Filling Wall is identified as GeoArme. İstanbul Teknik ensures procurement of materials, design of projects and application services.

Intended Uses

  • Bridge approaches
  • Valley passages (instead of Viaducts)
  • Construction and Upgrade of Mining Waste Areas and Embankment Ponds
  • Landscape Walls and Slopes
  • Road Expansions
  • Slope Steeping
  • Construction of Loading Ramps in Mining Sites

GeoArme RetainBlock

RetainBlock is used as the face of geogrid reinforced walls. It is also used for coating various types of retaining walls or creating architectural retaining walls such as garden walls by using iron reinforcement. It is possible to generate various solutions in the structures constructed by the seaside by using large block components produced with wet precast concrete at construction sites. The components of the RetainBlock system can be selected with many different shapes and colors.

GeoArme PotBlock

Angled walls can be constructed by using concrete blocks as front component in the form of flower pots and placing them by means of pushing backward. Plants are applied in the flower pot gaps of these blocks manually or based on the method of seeding by placing vegetable soils. It is possible to create circular wall turns due to the shapes and joint method of the blocks.

GeoArme WrapGrid

In this type of walls, where the face component is Geogrid, the filling between the two load-bearing geogrids is held by means of bundling the geogrid backwards. Steel mesh (WrapMesh), mold (WrapMold) or small geobags filled with soil (WrapBag) are used to hold the front surface during the filling process until the geogrid serves as a load-bearing component. Geogrid, soil retainer, geobag and similar components allow for the plants to grow or to be seeded with water (Hydroseeding). The plant roots and green extensions, which are used inside the Geogrid and are also identified as soil retainers or plant retainers, are maintained on the face of these walls together with the geogrid during the lifetime of the structure.

GeoArme CellFace

Angled walls can be constructed by using GeoCells as front component in the form of flower pots and placing them by means of pushing backward. Plants are applied in the flower pot gaps of these blocks manually or based on the method of seeding by placing vegetable soils. It is possible to create a flexible and robust front face with the geocell material used.

GeoArme HexMesh

When it is required to have nice appearance and apply a green space after the completion of the construction of GeoArme walls; a component, which is created by using mesh steel, soil retainer (mesh, geotextile, geocomposite, geomat, cocomat) layer and hexagonal double-twist wire mesh as front face component. This component is used together with the geogrid to ensure that the filling layer is retained during and after the filling process. The front of the wall serves various landscaping purposes by arranging the front either single or in stepped structure.

GeoArme Combine

It is possible to use various types of GeoArme walls together to generate the solution required in the project. This solution is generated together with the Client by taking the application area, the structures above and below it, aesthetic requests and functionality into consideration.
